White Witch Practices

Oct 05, 2026

I have always lived through my intuition, and trusted signs in my day and life. Calling myself a white witch for as long as I can remember, for my ability to predict things happening, the next Pantone colour, the sex of a growing baby, an unborn child’s chosen name, or fashion trend before it’s realised.  More recently, I’ve felt the call to embrace my White Witch and learn more about the ancient pagan practices that protect many.

White witches (or a Wicca) practice magic with one clear intention: to do good. They focus on healing, protection, positive energy, and working in harmony with nature.

This folk magic is sacred and is often hidden inside the ordinary, here are seven of my favourites, see which you already practice, and which might be of interest to do.

Never loan your jewelry. Your jewels carry energy, frequency and spiritual signature. To loan a piece is to give part of you to that person, and to take part of them when they return it. If you do loan, or purchase / receive previously loved jewelry cleanse it with a sageing. What you wear begins to resemble you energetically.

Never eat when you are angry.  Witches avoided eating when their emotions were high, intuitively they knew what science now teaches us. Elevated cortisol levels impede digestion.  Calm yourself first. How you nourish yourself in stress does not nourish how it does in calm.

Avoid sharing something too early. Words scatter energy, and if you are developing a project it may lose some of its strength before it’s taken form. If it doesn't feel right to discuss, keep it for yourself until it does.

Life is always speaking to you, learn to read and heed the signs. An unexpected meeting, a recurring number, a sense/ feeling that hits out of nowhere. Pay attention to these and act as you feel it calls.

Be mindful of who you let into your home. Some visitors leave energy that may be unwelcome to you and your family. Cleanse a space with a sageing if you sense this may be the case. Your home is your sanctuary, it’s wise to protect it.

Never leave a chair in a bedroom empty. This invites unwanted visitors, who see the open opportunity as a welcome invitation. Throw some clothes or a blanket on the chair and welcome only those aligned with your frequency and your energy.

Throw salt at the threshold of your home. This is a symbol of boundary, cleansing, and protection. The power of this ritual often lies in the pause it creates, you will notice your space, take time to sense and say out loud what feels heavy, and choose what you want to welcome instead.
