Move To Get Happy
Jul 13, 2026
Sometimes, the fastest way to feel better… is to move.
Your body is here to support you, and it isn’t separate from your mind, it’s working with it, and emotions don’t just live in your thoughts, they move through your body too.
So when you start to move, energy begins to flow, tension softens, and clarity returns, and you feel good! Movement gives your body a way to process, release, and reset naturally, moving any unwanted energy, and welcoming in the good vibes.
Movement doesn’t need to be extreme to be effective, or perfect, structured, or high-pressure, but consistency is key. This is the best way to support yourself.
Movement shifts your mindset
Movement is one of the most effective ways to create a mindset not just emotionally, but neurologically. Exercise increases BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor), essentially fertiliser for your neurons.
It supports neurogenesis, the growth of new brain cells, especially in the hippocampus, the part of your brain responsible for memory, learning, and emotional balance.
And, it:
- Releases endorphins that support feelings of ease and wellbeing
- Supports serotonin production, helping stabilise your mood
- Builds a healthier stress response over time, making you more resilient and grounded
Beyond science, movement strengthens your relationship with yourself, every time you show up, you’re keeping a promise, and those small, consistent promises matter as they build trust, regulation, and ritual.
When you say you’re going to move your body, and you do, you create evidence that you can rely on yourself, that you care. And over time, that becomes confidence, self-respect, self-love. The best outcome of personal growth.
Movement can look like;
- A walk in fresh air
- Stretching in your room
- A workout you enjoy
- Moving your body to reset your energy
- Getting outside and changing your environment
- A quick dance to your favourite song
What is important is moving in tune with your body and your needs. One day won’t look the same as the next, so a variety of movement practices is great to have on hand. Remember, it doesn’t matter what it looks like, just move!
- Move your body once a day
- Step outside when you can
- Notice how you feel after
- Let it be something you enjoy, not avoid
Let it become part of your rhythm, and finding your happiness. You feel better, and I bet it was fun!
