Little luxuries to permit ourselves
Sep 21, 2026
Everyday is worth making beautiful, and if you can include little luxuries in your month, you’ll start to notice the beauty in your everyday.
Here are some ideas that we love as petit treats that elevate your existence and shine a glimmer in your world:
- A night at the theatre - ballet, opera, orchestra, play. Dress up, embrace the sense of occasion and relish the beauty and inspiration.
- A coffee table book - the best gift, but also a delightful gift to self. Spend time in a bookshop, seek your inspiration and bring your joy home in plain sight on the coffee table.
- Flanner - the French pastime of watching the world go by. I believe you can learn a lot in doing this, one of the greatest art forms, is learning from and being inspired by others, how they walk and carry themselves, how they dress, the colours they choose, the people they are with, their self expressions as they talk.
- A loaf of fresh bakery bread - yes in today’s world this is a little luxury, but well worth it. What is better than a warm, delicious loaf of bread. Go all the way and buy some French butter to have with it! If you’re lucky it might last for a few days of pleasure.
- Fresh flowers - we love this one, but do engage in the practice of the occasional fresh bouquet of flowers. Buying seasonal and taking time to enjoy the scent, the colour and feel their frequency. Remember, roses have the highest frequency of all flowers, so if you need a quick mood lifter, there it is.
- A wine with a friend - ah, this one covers so much. A delicious flavour, a favourite person and enhanced conversation. It might be stimulating, it might be emotionally relieving, it might be hilarious. Enjoy it whatever it brings you.
