Guest Blog: Spiritual Hygiene for the Modern Day Leader in the Corporate World
Jul 27, 2026By Bronwyn Murphy Founder of Sacred Places Yoga
Referring to the consistent practice of maintaining clarity, balance, and protection within your personal energy field, spiritual hygiene is much like maintaining your physical health at the gym.
In a corporate or high-performance environment, this concept supports emotional resilience, focus, and overall well-being. It is particularly beneficial for individuals in leadership, client-facing, or high-stress roles who need to remain centred and composed.
- Cleansing Your Environment
Creating a clear and balanced workspace contributes to improved focus and productivity. Many professionals use cleansing rituals such as burning sage, palo santo to refresh the energy of their surroundings. Follow it with a quick spray. Our go to is Balipura Aura Spray (insert link)
Have pictures on your desk that raise your vibration and reflect where you wish to go and plants to keep the air cleansed.
Affirmations work wonders – I am clear, confident and attract aligned clients.
When to Cleanse Your Space:
- After intense meetings or challenging conversations
- Following large gatherings or events
- Just before a big meeting sit for 3 minutes light sage, close your eyes and visualise the best outcome for the meeting. The contract signed, the funding given, the new client signs the deal.
Tip: Sun light is one of the best energy cleansers of a space and you can send white light into a meeting room or event space in 3 minutes as you drive to work…..energy knows no bounds.

- Incorporating Meditation into Your Routine
Meditation is a proven method for reducing stress and enhancing mental clarity. Dedicating 10 minutes daily to mindfulness, breathwork, or guided meditation can help release tension and restore focus.
Practical Exercise: Visualise a warm, golden light surrounding you, clearing away distractions and reinforcing a sense of calm and confidence.
- Before Bed do Restorative Salt Baths or Foot Soaks
Salt has long been recognised for its purifying qualities. Adding Epsom or Himalayan salt to a warm bath can help release accumulated stress and restore balance after a demanding day.
Alternative Option: A salt foot soak offers similar benefits for those with limited time or space. It grounds you before bed and releases toxins in your body – sleep hygiene at its best!
Enhancement: Incorporate essential oils such as frankincense and create a calm environment with soft lighting or candles. Buy an oil diffuser and be the office that people come to destress.
Start the wellness trend.

- Grounding and Presence Practices
Grounding techniques help professionals remain composed and present, particularly in fast-paced or high-pressure settings.
Effective Grounding Methods:
- Take short breaks outdoors to reconnect with nature. As you walk from the car or train to the office swing your arms and do affirmations making sure your heart is facing the sky
eg: I am attracting my dream client today, my day is filled with calm present moments, I am vibrant and ready to step into the day with love and peace. - Practise mindful breathing before meetings & during presentations
- Visualise roots extending from your feet into the ground to stabilise your energy
Tip: To ground in a stressful meeting place your hands down on your lap, focus on the lower half of your body and relax your shoulders. Presence is your power
Why It Matters: Staying grounded reduces anxiety, prevents burnout, and enhances decision-making clarity.

- Establishing Energetic Boundaries
Maintaining healthy boundaries is a key aspect of professional and personal well-being. Protecting your energy ensures that you remain effective and composed, even in demanding environments.
Ways to Maintain Boundaries:
- Limit exposure to negative or draining interactions
- After a meeting go to the bathroom and as you wash your hands say I return to source any energy I have picked up not my own – see it go down the sink so you’re not carrying stress home.
- Visualise a protective barrier of light around you before engaging in challenging situations
- Set clear emotional and time boundaries to preserve focus and energy
For those in leadership, coaching, or client-support roles, strong energetic boundaries are essential for maintaining balance and preventing emotional fatigue.
Spiritual hygiene in the workplace is about cultivating clarity, balance, and resilience. By integrating cleansing, grounding, and protective practices into your daily routine, you enhance not only your personal well-being but also your professional effectiveness and presence. Your presence is your power.
